What is the Cloud Testlab?

It is a turnkey, cloud-hosting test environment for service providers, combining industry-leading software, systems, connectivity and colocation capabilities. The collaboration is designed to enable hosting providers to develop cloud services and virtualized environments for their customers at high speed and with best-in-class performance guarantees.

Cloud Hubs enable private cloud solutions to be deployed in close proximity to business and residential users, delivering an exceptional end-user experience.

The first platform deployed in Interxion's Cloud Testlab is the Microsoft Dynamic Data Center (DDC) Toolkit for Hosters, and is built on Microsoft® Windows Server® 2008 Hyper-V™ and Microsoft System Center. The DDC Toolkit for Hosters enables hosters to establish service level agreements (SLAs) and create portals that customers can use to directly provision, manage, and monitor their infrastructures. Set-up and testing of Microsoft’s cloud solution for hosters is offered free of charge for a limited period and is available throughout Europe.

Who is the Microsoft DDC Toolkit for Hosters aimed at?

Microsoft Dynamic Data Center (DDC) Toolkit for Hosters is a platform for hosting companies that want to provide virtualized services to end users.

Who are the partners participating in the Cloud Testlab project?

Interxion, Microsoft, KPN International, NL-ix, and HP are collaborating to provide a test platform to hosters.

How can I connect to the Cloud Testlab?

Users of the platforms in the Testlab can either connect directly with a cross-connect in the Interxion Cloud Hub data center or access the solution via the Internet connection provided by NL-ix and KPN International.

Where is the platform located?

The platform itself is colocated in Interxion’s Amsterdam data centre campus.

Why are Interxion, Microsoft, KPN International, NL-ix and HP collaborating to deliver this service?

The project partners want to make it easier for hosters to test Microsoft’s latest cloud technology. Interxion’s Cloud Hub data centres are the ideal locations for companies offering cloud services to colocate their equipment, offering fast connections, proximity to end users and connectivity to all of Europe’s Internet Exchanges. Therefore, Interxion contributed its Cloud Hub data centres to this project. KPN International and NL-ix provide the connectivity to the Internet, whilst HP provides the hardware platform for the Cloud Testlab.

When is the service available?

The platform has been operational since the beginning of 2011 and will be available until the end of the year.

How much does it cost?

The platform is available free for a limited period.

Which geographical regions are targeted?

The platform is primarily for customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Still, users from other regions are also able to connect. Please send an email to cloud@interxion.com for further information on geographical locations.
