Connectivity

Interxion can help reduce the cost of network access and improve business performance by finding the right connectivity partners within the Interxion data center. The large and growing community of carriers, ISPs, Internet Exchanges and other companies located in Interxion data centers help you achieve the best possible deals on leased lines, IP-transit, peering arrangements and physical cabling to keep costs low and business productivity high.

Direct cabling

Direct fiber, copper and UTP connections to the carrier, ISP, Internet Exchange or other Interxion customers run via dedicated central patch rooms to the destinations you need. Central patch rooms and all the cable trays are highly secure, and cabling and connections are tested before being taken into production. Interxion administers all cables and patches and provides support to resolve any connectivity problems.

Bandwidth solutions

The Interxion data centers offer you freedom of choice: On average there are more than 15 network carriers at each site, in some cases more than 50. Every site has direct access to many more managed connectivity providers and content players with which you can exchange traffic, allowing you to negotiate for your connectivity and other services under the best possible conditions.

Interxion can also help you establish relationships with each of the local suppliers, saving you endless amounts of time trying to locate the appropriate in country representative when you are miles away from where your equipment will be located.

Additionally, Interxion can offer different choices based on your specified requirements, be it single connection or IP Multihoming services that enable connection to multiple Tier One providers in Europe.

Peering & Internet Exchanges

Peering is a business agreement between network operators to exchange access to each others' networks so that all parties save money on their IP-transit. Peering can be done using direct cabling or via an Internet Exchange.

Metroconnect

In the event that the Internet Exchange is not located in one of Interxion's data centers or if the Exchange is located in a data center other than the one where you have your colocation, choose the Metroconnect solution.

Interxion Metroconnect is a dedicated leased connection between Interxion data centers within a metropolitan area and the local Internet Exchange. In addition, if you are looking for ways to exchange traffic between Interxion data centers within a city (Amsterdam, Paris or Frankfurt), Metroconnect may be the ideal solution for you.

Metroconnect offers the ability to set up a private VLAN with your partners to operate a private (peering) connection between networks across the metropolitan area. A great solution for redundancy between data centers, connection to the local Internet Exchange or connection to your customers.

Interxion provides metropolitan ethernet connections between facilities so you can connect with your partners and other locations. Within cities, our data centers are interlinked with network connectivity so you can scale your installation as required and connect to the local Internet Exchange.

The service installation includes all structured cabling needed to connect one port on your equipment to Interxion's infrastructure.

For further information download the Connection Services data sheet or send an e-mail with your criteria.

Interxion's equipment monitoring service can also help you determine whether your transit provider lives up to its promises. Interxion can check URLs and ports connected to the internet. If your URLs or ports are not accessible, the system will alert you to the problem or our technicians will take appropriate action.
