To provide UK operational leadership and manage activities and staff to ensure that facilities are built, maintained and operated such that:

  • Outstanding customer experience is continually improved, with no SLA breaches
  • Operational activities (Facility Management, Customer Installations and Service and all Projects) are managed to clear, measurable plans
  • Capacity planning with reports required by MD and HQ provided in a timely and accurate manner
  • New construction of data centre space, both expansions and new build, is carried out to defined standards, cost and programme
  • Regulations are adhered to, inc health and safety, environmental and quality standards, customer service, security and ICT policies


  • Extensive experience and understanding of data centre functions (production operations, network, change control, DR/Business recovery, customer support, systems management, and facilities)
  • Possess technical knowledge, including comprehensive understanding of Transformers, UPS, ATS/STS Units, PDUs, generator capacity, Cold Water Chillers, DX units, CRACs.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications engineering, fibre optic cabling and splicing
  • Extensive experience in managing operational budgets
  • Experience of managing suppliers and supplier performance management
  • Knowledge and experience in data centre and infrastructure projects
  • Director level or equivalent experience in making trade-off decision between cost and service
