We are very proud to announce that Interxion was named the winner of the esteemed Industry Award at this year’s Datacentre Solutions Awards, which recognise the products, projects and services in the datacentre industry and honor companies and teams in the field. We are particularly honoured to be named the recipient of this year’s Industry Award, which is the only DCS category voted for by an awards panel of reputable editors and analysts, as opposed to the public. The judges chose Interxion over other qualified competition for our significant contribution to the industry in the past 12 months and the role we played in helping the industry develop or improve.
This win is a testament to Interxion’s ongoing commitment to innovation and advancement, both for our customers and for the broader datacentre community. One way Interxion is leading the industry and providing value-added services for our customers is through our unique connectivity environments - or ‘Hubs’ – that bring together companies operating in the same sector so that they can benefit from fast and low-cost interconnectivity and establish valuable business relationships. These Communities of Interest give our customers in the Financial Services, Cloud, and Digital Media a thriving colocation environment where they are all in close proximity to a wide range of carriers, ISPs and other connectivity providers. Our customers benefit from competitive pricing and a choice of technologies from these providers, together with low-latency connectivity to their suppliers and end users.
We’re also constantly innovating when it comes to the design and technology of our facilities, with sustainability near and dear to our hearts. In fact, the DCS win comes just weeks after our accolade from the Green Enterprise IT Award that recognized the energy-efficiency of Interxion’s seawater cooling systems, which reduced energy costs on the Stockholm campus by 80 percent. Also of note, Interxion uses a modular approach to facility build outs; by building our facilities in sections as customers sign on for space, we reduce how much operators must spend to power and cool unused infrastructure. This modular approach is now not only the blueprint for Interxion’s facility designs but also an industry-standard.
We congratulate all of the other winners and runners up at this year’s Datacentre Solutions Awards. For more about the program and for pictures of the event, see here. We also invite you to see a list of Interxion’s previous awards won, here.
