On the 23rd of May Interxion sponsored the CEE peering Prague Airport Day, jointly organised by the Vienna Internet Exchange (VIX) and the Neutral Internet Exchange (NIX).
Two hundred delegates from the CEE region were informed about the latest news from the regional carriers and the ISP community, but also on technologies such as SDN, routing, Open Networks, and about the specific value the carrier-neutral data centres bring in supporting this community and these technologies.
Interxion was one of the main sponsors and used the event to confirm its position as the leading regional connectivity hub that hosts the VIX and 17 other IXPs across Europe. Interxion’s Mike Hollands, Director of Marketing and Business Development, Connectivity Segment, was one of the participants at the concluding panel discussion.
It was important for Interxion to engage with the Internet exchange members in Central and Eastern Europe and to support the VIX in its activities. The CEE peering Day was a great success for participants and sponsors and as a result the event is planned to be repeated in Vienna in 2014.
