In our recent survey we asked 400+ cloud and hosting providers about the strategies they’re using to differentiate from the competition and grab their share of the cloud opportunity.

  • The most popular strategy in the US is a focus on service excellence with 79% of respondents executing this strategy

  • This is most often joined by offering applications, at 72%, and Internationalisation, at 62%

  • Looking underneath these figures, we found that a large majority (61%) execute 3 or more strategies

Conversations with cloud and hosting providers across Europe and the U.S. reveal that, to maintain margins, many successful hosters have adopted a combination of strategies. These strategies tend to be emergent, ad-hoc, and mostly driven by customer requirements.
