AMSTERDAM and LONDON – 27th August 2015 – INTERXION HOLDING NV (NYSE: INXN), a leading provider of carrier and cloud-neutral colocation data centre services in Europe, today announced that you can now access ExpressRoute at Interxion’s Amsterdam facility, enabling Interxion's customers to achieve improved security and high performance private network connections to Microsoft Azure.
As organisations start to move more of their IT workloads to the public cloud and benefit from the agility and cost savings it has to offer they are becoming increasingly concerned with security, performance and resilience. In fact recent research from IDG Connect has shown network security to be the biggest concern for Dutch companies when looking to connect to the Cloud. Private connections such as ExpressRoute can help alleviate these concerns by delivering the reliable and predictable network performance required for the successful implementation of hybrid clouds.
ExpressRoute is now available to all customers located at Interxion’s Amsterdam campus, via Interxion’s Cloud Connect service. Cloud Connect is a bespoke cloud access service allowing customers to build and manage private, high-performance and security-enhanced connections to multiple clouds through a single connection. It’s a highly scalable, fast and cost-effective way to create hybrid, multi-cloud IT environments and to move business critical workloads and latency sensitive applications to the public cloud.
Vincent in’t Veld, Director of Cloud segment at Interxion commented, “As adoption of hybrid cloud increases so does the need for low latency, high performance and security-enhanced connections to the key cloud providers. The addition of Microsoft Azure at our Amsterdam Campus fulfils this need and represents a major milestone in our strategy to provide customers with low latency access to the leading cloud platforms.”
Ross Ortega, Principle Product Manager, Networking, Microsoft Azure said, “Interxion is one of the most established data centre providers in the Netherlands and this collaboration provides our joint customers new options to benefit from the efficiencies of hybrid cloud.”
