Network and telecoms providers like BT are expected to offer customers fast, secure and reliable access to international interconnection venues across all industry verticals. And in the Financial Services industry, where “time is money” truly resonates, low-latency connectivity is absolutely critical for successful market-data transactions. So when BT’s financial-trading customers demanded even-faster, lower-latency communication to international market-exchange platforms, the company decided to look beyond its own data centers and partner with Interxion to offer its financial community improved access to trading sites around the globe.

This week, Interxion announced that BT is offering a range of its BT Radianz Services from Interxion’s City of London  (LON1) data center campus. Now, BT’s Radianz Cloud platform, which supports the world’s largest networked financial community, will enable direct access to this shared infrastructure environment for its Cloud community around the world. Interxion’s Finance Hub, which is already home to over 200 financial services institutions, as well as more than 15 liquidity venues and all the major market data vendors, will likewise benefit from proximity to BT’s broader user Cloud community for new business opportunities.

By extending into LON1, BT can now also offer its Radianz Hosting services, which enable remote management of its customers’ network and IT, inside of the Interxion data center. BT will also be providing its customers and the Interxion community access to its Radianz Venue Interconnect, which guarantees optimized, low-latency connectivity between Interxion’s City of London campus and data centers in five key financial centers – Milan, Stockholm, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. Further, BT Radianz clients will have direct access to the large number of liquidity venues, such as NYSE Euronext, Nasdaq OMX and Bolsa de Madrid, as well as the more than 100 capital markets participants, including investment firms, high-frequency trading firms, hedge funds, brokers and banks, that call Interxion’s London campus home.

By offering access to its Radianz Services from Interxion in London, BT is not only helping its customers overcome the challenges that can arise with liquidity and fragmentation, but it is also creating significant new business opportunities for its customers, which are equally beneficial for Interxion’s community. Together, Interxion and BT are setting a worldwide standard for how financial market participants exchange market information, trade with each other, and clear and settle transactions.
