Demand for traditional hosting still exceeds demand for cloud in Europe

By: Jelle Frank van der Zwet

Our recent survey of 400+ cloud and hosting providers reveals that the majority of respondents see stronger demand for traditional hosting as opposed to the cloud or application services.

The Netherlands did not follow this trend entirely.  Although 48% of customer demand is coming from traditional hosting, respondents are seeing equal demand coming from SaaS applications

Demand for cloud in this market was high when compared to the European average

These findings make it clear that although on the whole European enterprises are not yet at the level of cloud adoption that might have been expected a year or so ago, the market in the Netherlands is ahead of the curve.

One explanation for this could be that enterprise IT buyers in the Netherlands have a clearer idea about how to migrate to the cloud than their counterparts in the rest of Europe.
