Interxion wins “Best Data Centre” at the Global Carrier Awards 2014

On Tuesday 4th November myself and 350 other members of the global telecoms industry gathered together after 2 days of a successful conference at Capacity Europe for the Global Carrier Awards in Amsterdam.

Now in its 14th year, Capacity Europe brings together around 1150 attendees from over 360 companies to discuss key issues and share ideas with the global telecoms industry, with the focus this year on the transformation of the carrier business model.

The awards ceremony took place at the Okura Hotel in central Amsterdam, where we were treated to some splendid food and a very inspirational talk by the guest speaker Ben Fogel on his many adventures across the globe, including rowing across the Atlantic in 49 days and crossing the Antarctic.

After the evening’s entertainment the real business of the awards took place and Interxion was very proud to be nominated and win the “Award for Best Data Centre”. Our success in this category was down to Interxion’s high quality services that we provide to the carrier wholesale community, over 500 of whom are our customers.

Interxion’s submission was supported by some fantastic testimonials from a wide range of customers and partners, and our collaboration with so many Internet Exchanges across Europe was also particularly noted.

With Interxion’s acquisition of the SFR Netcentre in Marseilles we are now positioned at the crossroads of connectivity between Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East and will serve as an extension of our commitment to the customers’ requests for greater access to these emerging markets.

We were also applauded for our continuing efforts in sustainability - an area that Interxion takes very seriously. In fact we currently run on 90% sustainable energy. We are always striving to find new ways to innovate the way we design and operate our data centres in areas of energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions and cutting waste.

We are proud to represent Interxion at these awards and collect on behalf of all those that have put in the hard work to achieve this success
