As more enterprises look toward digital transformation, IT agility helps them innovate in the areas of product development, customer experience and operations. That’s why more businesses are exploring new hybrid cloud and multicloud strategies as a way to make their networks more flexible. This week, Interxion and Oracle have announced a new offering that will make it even easier for those companies to experiment with hybrid and multicloud environments. Enterprises collocating their network and private IT environments in any of our European data centres will now be able to access Oracle Cloud Infrastructure through Cloud Connect, our interconnection platform. This access is made possible by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect, an Oracle network cloud service that is now collocated in our Frankfurt facility. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure describes the complete portfolio of Oracle IaaS solutions. This offering, which comes as Interxion has been named a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, creates an ideal environment for both Interxion and Oracle customers to extend their on-premises IT to the hybrid cloud and reap the benefits of Oracle cloud solutions.
Interconnections Are Key to the Hybrid Cloud
More than half of the enterprise IT professionals we surveyed in a recent report said they currently or plan to adopt a hybrid cloud solution. It’s easy to see why: by mixing on-premises and cloud-based IT, hybrid cloud allows innovative enterprises to tap into the agility and cost savings of the cloud without ceding the performance benefits of their in-house data centre. But, some CIOs can still be hesitant about the cloud, either due to security concerns related to sending data over the public internet, or regulations that require them to keep data on-premises. One solution is to take advantage of private interconnections that connect on-premises IT and cloud environments through colocation data centres. Cloud Connect offers private access between your environments to multiple hyperscale cloud providers through a single secure, reliable connection. As a result, you can build a scalable hybrid and multicloud solutions in a cost-effective way, while enjoying predictable performance and low-latency connections to the cloud. Connecting to Oracle
