The Interxion Metro Connect product is part of the wider Cross Connect product suite, which interconnect customers between Interxion Data Centres within a metropolitan area.

They enable reliable connectivity directly to your partners, suppliers and other Interxion customers who are present in the same or a nearby Data Centre, helping you to reduce network costs and to lower network latency, without using public networks.

Metro Connect Options

Interxion provides two different options of the Metro Connect product so customers can select the option that works best for their business. The following Metro Connect products provide connectivity between our Dublin campuses.

Dark Fibre

Fibre is a dedicated single-mode dark fibre solution and can be purchased as a single route or redundant routes. There is a twelve-month contractual term for the Metro Connect - Fibre option. A monthly recurring service fee as well as initial setup fee is charged for this product. Customers who choose this option are responsible for lighting the fibre and managing the connection(s).

Managed Wave

Managed Wave solution uses DWDM technology and Ethernet protocol to support connections over diverse fibre paths providing security, reliability and cost efficiency. The Managed Wave product is a fully managed solution with capacity to scale as your business grows; and, includes fibre route protection with <50 ms automatic switchover between fibre paths.
