Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect Now Available at Interxion Frankfurt
AMSTERDAM – 21st September 2015, INTERXION HOLDING NV (NYSE: INXN), a leading provider of carrier and cloud-neutral colocation data centre services in Europe, today announced that AWS has launched a new Direct Connect location at Interxion’s Frankfurt facility, enabling customers to achieve secure and high performance private network connections to AWS.
As organisations look to move more of their business critical applications to the cloud, network security and performance become critical success factors. Private connect services, like AWS Direct Connect, offer dedicated, high performance networking solutions that are ideally designed for customers implementing hybrid cloud solutions.
Interested customers can now connect directly to AWS through Interxion’s Cloud Connect platform, in addition to the traditional cross connect option. Cloud Connect enables customers to build and manage private, secure and high-performance VLAN connections to multiple clouds over a single physical SLA based connection.
Access to AWS in Frankfurt forms part of a larger Interxion rollout project, with access to AWS already available at Interxion London and further availability to be announced.
Vincent in‘t Veld, Director Cloud Segment at Interxion commented “The addition of AWS Direct Connect to our Frankfurt campus is a major milestone in our strategy to deliver low latency, high performance access to cloud service providers and enables our customers to build and operate hybrid cloud solutions. This announcement is further evidence of Interxion Frankfurt’s evolution from one of the world’s largest Connectivity Hubs into a leading Cloud Hub.”
